Once upon a time, Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals used to be exclusively for American residents celebrating Thanksgiving. However, today people from around the world can take advantage of crazy sales a month before Christmas. Seeing as we are focused on travel around here, I thought I would do a quick roundup of some fantastic Black Friday travel deals I’ve discovered. A combination of Australian-only and worldwide deals, get in quick as many of these sales finish on either Sunday or Monday.
Flight Centre’s marketing team have outdone themselves. Instead of Black Friday, they’re promoting Red Thursday, because red is the new black apparently! They have some extremely good flight deals available, like Sydney to Shanghai with Qantas for under $500 (unheard of).
Visit the Flight Centre website
One of Flight Centre’s competitors, STA Travel has got some good Black Friday deals going on. We’re talking cheap flights, up to 35% off G Adventures tours, up to 20% off Contiki tours, up to 30% off Busabout adventures and 37% off Eurail passes. Basically, if you’re planning a Europe adventure next year, check out STA Travel’s Black Friday travel deals.

Tinggly has 33% off everything for Black Friday. If you’re trying to find a present for someone addicted to travel, check out Tinggly. You can purchase a gift box that gives the recipient access to hundreds of fun travel experiences around the world. I did a Tinggly tour in Oahu last year and it was fantastic.
Visit the Tinggly website and use code BLACK33 at checkout.
Speaking of Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines is offering discounted flights between Australia and Hawaii in 2019. A bit more comfortable than flying with Jetstar!

Expedia is offering customers $100 off select flights, as well as 75% off select hotels. To take advantage of this Black Friday/Cyber Monday travel deal, you need to first download the Expedia app. This will give you access to a Cyber Monday app-only coupon, and you will get double Expedia Rewards points when you book exclusively through the app.
Download the Expedia app, then visit the Expedia website to grab the coupon codes.
Black Friday is also a great time to book a tour for 2019. TourRadar is offering up to 75% off select tours around the world. Their Black Friday discounts include last minute and early bird deals, as well as 2 for 1 promotions and flight discounts. Through TourRadar, you can book discounted tours with reputable companies like G Adventures, Trafalgar and Trek America.
Visit the TourRadar website for all the details.
Speaking of tours, we all know I have an affinity for Contiki. I’ve done Contiki tours in both Asia and Europe, and I think they’re great for first-time solo travellers. Well, Contiki is offering up to 20% off select tours worldwide. That can mean a saving of $900 in some instances.
Visit the Contiki website to take advantage of the Black Friday discounts.
Over the Black Friday weekend, you can save up to 15% off when you book a sightseeing experience through Viator.
Visit the Viator website and use code VIA18 at checkout.
Another company I have an affinity for is Skyscanner, as you can search for flight deals in a variety of ways. Choose from direct flights only, search an entire month for the cheapest flights, or (my personal favourite) select the ‘everywhere’ option and let your imagination run wild. Skyscanner has put together a blog post for both its American and Australian readers, highlighting the best Black Friday flight deals. With discounts of up to 30%, definitely check it out.

I haven’t actually flown Virgin Australia in awhile, but I just checked out their website and they’re doing a Black Friday sale on international flights. Extended until 9th December, this might be the perfect time to book next year’s flight to Vancouver. Wait, that might just be me 😉
Visit the Virgin Australia website for its Black Friday sale.
I like to think of Webjet as Skyscanner’s main Australian counterpart. For Black Friday, they have a few exclusive deals. You can save up to 15% off international flights, 10% off holiday packages, and earn up to $1000 cashback on select flight-inclusive tours. Now THAT’S a bargain.
Visit the Webjet website for more information.
AIR NEW ZEALAND
If those Virgin Australia flight deals don’t entice you, I think Air New Zealand’s Black Flyday Sale might get you booking an international trip by the end of the weekend. Deals include Sydney to California for under $1000. I’ve flown Air New Zealand internationally before and had a great experience.

Hotels.com has savings of up to 50% off select hotels around the world.
Visit the Hotels.com website and use code THANKS for an extra 10% off at checkout.
Okay, one more tour company to check out. Intrepid Travel is offering up to 30% off select worldwide tours during their Cyber Sale, which is their biggest sale of the year. It’s on until the 30th November.

I could keep going, but I feel like these deals will keep you satisfied (and busy) this weekend. However, if I missed an AMAZING sale, drop the details in the comments below.
