Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Work. March was an odd month. My weeks went chill – work – chill – work. I ended up working six shifts last week, plus my writing, so it was a busy one. Whereas this week is all about the chill, with Saturday my only non-offline workday.
♥ Spring. We actually had a couple of days of sunshine! I went for a walk around the neighbourhood Sunday morning, as the weather was just too good not to take advantage of it. This is the view about a ten minute walk down the road from me — Vancouver’s pretty skyline. This week is meant to be rainy, again, but as long as it stays above ten degrees I’ll be happier, not the happiest ;)
♥ Eats. I didn’t eat out anywhere exciting last week, but I did get some takeaway Vietnamese from a local restaurant last night. It was cheap, delicious, quick and healthy. It ticked all the boxes really!
♥ Reads. I’m still making my way through the fourth Outlander book and The Queen of the Tearling, which I mentioned last week. This Outlander novel was dragging for a bit, as they usually do because they are SO big, but some exciting stuff has just happened to keep me interested.
♥ LA. I’m still adding more information (and eats, let’s be honest) to our LA list. This guide from A Beautiful Mess came along at the perfect time! I looked up the weather this week and it’s predicted to be sunny and 25 degrees when we visit. HEAVEN.
♥ New post. I finally finished my solo travel guide to Oahu. I’ll also be doing a similar guide for Maui, as I found that island even more difficult to navigate by myself.
♥ Shoutout. I was pretty chuffed last week when a famous Canadian chef gave me a shoutout on Twitter and shared the story I’d written on the finest Canadian chefs. I also got some great feedback on this post, which is always nice to hear as a writer.
♥ Watching. I just started the new Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why. I can see myself finishing the first season very quickly. It’s addictive!
This week is all about writing and preparing for my holiday!
