In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ Aussie Christmas: I got a little bit nostalgic this week and wrote about the 10 things that make an Aussie Christmas. Check out the post here.
♥ Busy Bee: The past week has been busy, very busy. I have worked six days in a row, which is progressing into ten days in a row. When I say Christmas Day is going to be super relaxing this year, I mean it. BUT, the work environment is pretty. I mean, look at this view:
♥ Stanley Park: My friend and I decided to do something to celebrate Christmas on my day off last week. So we fueled up on tacos at Tacofino and headed to Stanley Park’s Bright Nights. Entry is by donation, with all proceeds going to the local Firefighters’ Burns Fund. It a little decorated slice of Stanley Park, and there is a train that takes you on a journey through the park. It was freezing but fun!
♥ Santa: We also couldn’t resist getting a photo with Santa. This Santa was the best, as he gave me a handful of candy canes as well. Thanks, Santa!
This jacket is my best friend
♥ Snow day, again! Yesterday was another snow day. It was incredible arriving home after work and seeing the inches of snow on the ground. I kind of like how it glows at night under the street lights. Is that just me? Although temperatures were in the negatives for most of last week, we had many clear and sunny days.
♥ The Romantics: All of this commuting has meant a lot of reading, so I finished The Romanticsin only a few days. I remember watching the movie quite a few years ago, so when I saw it at the library I thought I would check it out. It was uniquely written, but I honestly found it hard to like or relate to the characters.
♥ Writing prospects: Although my time has been spent away from the computer, I fortunately woke up this morning to some exciting emails. I just know 2017 is going to be a great year, work and travel-wise. I’m putting all my good vibes out into the universe.
♥ My first Christmas movie: I FINALLY watched my first Christmas movie this week. I’ll Be Home for Christmas is from 1998, but I still love its cheesiness. Jonathan Taylor Thomas in his prime.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
