Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Work. Rogers Arena hosted a lot of events last week, including two concerts and two hockey games, which kept me out of trouble. I was also able to get to the co-working space twice and completed a good amount of stories for The Culture Trip.
♥ Published. I uploaded one blog post last week, which was a review of my Road to Hana tour in Maui. I happily relived the experience while writing the story, as it was a phenomenal day. I miss Hawaii and its beautiful weather.
♥ Books. Another book completed last week. I’m ahead of my 50 books for the year schedule, which is probably a good thing, if my end-of-year travel plans come into fruition. Anyway, I finally read an Emily Giffin novel: The One and Only. Not exactly an original name, but I enjoyed the book. It was focused around football in a small Texas town, which definitely piqued my interest, as a bit of an outsider. It would be the perfect read while on holidays, as I finished it pretty quickly.
♥ New purchases. I’ve been using a Fitbit since the end of 2015, and I think it’s really helped me move more and choose walking over the bus/tram on a fair few occasions. It’s also a great way to track your exercise too. I currently have the Charge HR, but they definitely aren’t built the greatest, as I got a replacement for my first one after eight months, when it started to fall apart. And now seven months later, the replacement is being held together by tape. So I decided to upgrade and I’ve pre-ordered the new Alta HR, which is slimmer, prettier and it looks to be built better. It should arrive mid-April!
♥ Sunshine. After weeks (not an exaggeration) of clouds and rain, the clouds actually parted to let in some blue sky. Hallelujah! It was so nice to feel the sun and go for two walks around my neighbourhood on Sunday. The rest of the week isn’t looking as good, so you’ve got to make the most of it while you can.
♥ This Is Us. I’ve been catching up on This Is Us over the past few days — definitely the breakout hit of the 2016/17 season. It’s such an unique concept, and I absolutely love Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore as the main characters. They are a stellar partnership. As I teared up watching it last night, my friend warns me there’s more crying to come. I obviously highly recommend this show, just watch it with tissues beside you.
I’ve got a pretty cruisy week ahead of me, filled with writing and maybe some tacos ;)

Vancouver certainly looks alot prettier when the skies are blue :) This is us sounds like a Mum series??
Yeah it is. We’ll have to see if it’s on Netflix in the next couple of months ;)
