In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ All work, no play. It was a quiet one last week. I pretty much worked, worked out and watched TV. But sometimes a quiet, unsocial week isn’t a bad thing. I also made a lot of progress with my writing job, so that made me happy. Best job ever, seriously.
♥ Saying yes. I said this was the year to say yes and do things that make me uncomfortable, like trying new workout classes. There’s something about stepping into a room where you don’t know what to do that’s scary. But last week I did three fitness classes, and one of them was with this lady who was terrifying but good. Although she constantly yelled at us, “don’t you dare quit”, her methods were effective. My abs were sore for two days afterwards!
Captured on the way to work on Friday
♥ Care packages. My parent’s neighbours happened to come to Vancouver on their way to the Rockies for a holiday, so they brought me a few things from home! It was mostly just summer clothes for Hawaii, which was very convenient indeed.
♥ No photos, yet! So my new camera arrived on Friday, but it was cloudy and raining all weekend so I haven’t taken her for a spin yet. But this week should be better.
♥ Bye, snow. With the rain this week and slightly warmer temperatures (seriously, 7 feels like heaven compared to -2) all of the snow around my neighbourhood completely melted away. I kind of miss the white everywhere, but it was an awesome experience while it lasted.
♥ TV time. I got all caught up on Bones, so now I have moved onto finishing the latest season of Scandal. It’s been hard to get into for some reason, but hopefully it improves. Or I’ll just skip through it via Netflix. I’ve also been catching up on Timeless.I really like the show’s concept, because I am a total history nerd.
♥ Currently reading. This may be the first week in awhile that I haven’t finished a book. This is what happens when I don’t commute! But I’m currently reading the fourth Outlander novel, which are crazy long but crazy good (once again, history nerd). I’m also finishing The Girl you Left Behind by Jojo Moyes. Funnily enough, it’s also a book that switches between the past and present. What is with all the history this week?
♥ Coming up. Well, with it being Australia Day this week, I have a couple of Australian posts coming up on the blog. Hopefully it makes up for not posting last week, but I was way too focused on my other writing job.
This week, I’m having a little Dine Out Vancouver fun and going to a blogger event!
