Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Watching. Last night I finished the final episode of Switched at Birth, and now there is a void in my life ;) But seriously, every time I finish a TV series, it’s a little sad, because you’ve been invested in the characters for so long! Nevertheless, my must-watch TV list is always growing, so it’s onto the next addiction. I am nearly finished the second series of Quantico, and then I have many shows like Nashville, The Crown and Reign to catch up on as well. I wasn’t too invested in the first half of Quantico’s second season, but the different storyline in the second half is a lot better in my opinion.
♥ Blogging. Last week’s blog post was about the best day trips from Melbourne. Researching the post and writing this bucket list makes me excited for future adventures in Melbs, when I return next year.
♥ Reading. I finished a book in record time last week (about three days). I read Love and Gelato, which was actually a YA novel. The cheese factor was pretty high, but I liked the fact it was written about Italy. It’s a solid book for teenagers. Now I am over halfway through The Couple Next Door, which I’ve heard is messed up. So far it’s basically A Girl on the Train meets Gone Girl.
♥ Eating. One of the perks of working on a food truck is that at events and markets, you can trade food for other goodies from vendors. I worked two different farmer’s markets on the weekend, and walked away with cherries, mini capsicums (peppers) and two blocks of delicious local cheese. My friends and I also went out for Wing Wednesday at Original Joe’s, where you can get plates of wings for half price. It was a good deal when with a large group of people.
♥ Writing. One of my favourite posts I wrote last week was on the best cities for solo travellers in Canada. I also wrote a short feature on the Playground of the Gods, which I didn’t even know existed. It isn’t far from my house, either.
♥ Working. This is my busy week when it comes to concerts. There is one every weekday and I am working four out of the five. But hey, there are worse ways to spend your evening than being paid to listen to Bruno and Ed.
Other than work, I don’t have much planned! But I think my day off has to include a sunny adventure.
