Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Summer. Yes, the sun shined every day last week. I was basically in shock the entire time, but it felt so good to wear more than just long pants every.single.day. But with the change in season also came my first experience with hayfever. Allergies suck!
♥ Watching. I finished Madam Secretary, which is an excellent series if you haven’t watched it yet. I think the casting is perfect and, you know, Morgan Freeman is an executive producer. Everything that genius touches turns to gold. I also started bingeing Switched at Birth. I wanted an easy-to-watch family teen show to watch between all the serious series I tend to binge, and this one fits the bill.
♥ Eating. The warmer weather meant I turned to ice cream a couple of times to cool down, as us Aussies do. I was at an event with the food truck yesterday and got to try Rocky Point Ice Cream for free, which is reasonably priced and the chocolate was really creamy. We also went to La Mezcaleria on Friday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The food was good, but I thought a couple of the dishes were quite pricey for the serving size. We may have finished the night with Dolce Amore gelato too… I’m addicted, what can I say?
♥ Posting. Last week’s new post was a flashback to LA and all the awesome things we got up to during our trip. Hopefully it comes in handy for other people planning a trip to La La Land.
♥ Reading. I struggled to finish Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty in one week, but I got it done as it had to be returned to the library! I also put a few books on hold and they all magically became available last week, so I currently have a stack of five books beside my bed. Yikes! First up is Hidden Figures, which is a non-fiction book that was recently turned into a movie. Tune in next week for my thoughts ;)
This week is all about work, for now!
