Looking for the best breakfast in Sydney? You’ve come to the right place with this bumper guide to the 20+ best Sydney brunch spots.
I’m a brunch girlie to my CORE. No matter where I travel in the world, discovering the best brunch spots is my number one priority. While I’ve visited Sydney, Australia, multiple times over the past few years, I’ve only scratched the surface of the Sydney brunch scene. Nevertheless, whether you’re looking for a buffet brunch, a bottomless brunch, or brunch with a view, here are my recommendations for the best Sydney brunch spots.
Best brunch spots in Sydney
Best Sydney brunch spots in Surry Hills
I don’t think any other Sydney suburb does brunch like Surry Hills. Get your flat white coffee fix with a side of scrumptious brunch at one of these spots.

1. Paddock on Crown serves the most epic fried chicken waffle sandwich, complete with bacon, egg, a bowl of maple syrup and a side of fries. If you want something sweeter, try their signature fluffy AF pancakes. The cafe also features ample outdoor seating and is home to the above mural. Highly recommend!
2. Two Good Eggs, a beloved establishment in Surry Hills, is a must-visit for any brunch lover. With its comprehensive menu featuring eggs in all forms (including scrambled eggs, poached eggs, and eggs Benedict), it’s no wonder this spot is always bustling.

3. Bourke Street Bakery started in Surry Hills but now has locations across Sydney. It’s down the block from Paddock on Crown and was bustling when I walked past. You can opt for a sweet treat or a pastry (including tarts, cake slices, cookies, and muffins). Alternatively, there are pies, sausage rolls, savoury pastries, sandwiches, and toast.
4. Reuben Hills is known for its coffee, but you can indulge in its all-day menu in Surry Hills. Take your pick from soft eggs, a breakfast burrito, a fried chicken basket, and lemongrass braised pork tacos.
5. Basket Brothers is another popular option. I couldn’t look past the World Famous Bacon and Egg Roll, and it was delectable! But other tantalising menu items include the Brothers Brisket Bennie and The Meat (eggs, brisket, bacon, chorizo, and a hash brown).
6. Paramount Coffee Project has piqued my interest for my next visit. Just the thought of indulging in their fried chicken and waffles with toasted hazelnuts or crumbed eggs on toast has me eagerly anticipating my next Sydney brunch adventure!

Best brunch in Sydney CBD
Now, onto places for brunch in Sydney city. If the coffee is as important as the food, head to Industry Beans. I’ve visited the flagship café in Melbourne and I love the mix of classic and eclectic breakfast dishes. Think corn fritters, a fig and goat cheese omelette, and an Angus beef burger with a coffee-spiced onion ring. It’s an experience.
Another luxe Sydney brunch spot in the CBD is The Grounds of the City. I’ve visited The Grounds in Alexandria, which is an experience in itself that I highly recommend. But if you don’t have time to visit, this is the next best thing. It has a very distinct, old-school vibe. The menu features twists on classics, including steak and eggs, avocado toast, and buttermilk pancakes.
If you’re short on time and want a quick breakfast fix, check out Bread and Fill. You can get a bacon and egg roll for $7.50 or a breakfast box for $13. Bargain!
Best buffet Sydney brunch
According to TripAdvisor, Harvest Buffet is one of the best brunch places in Sydney. It’s also the top choice if you’re looking for a buffet brunch. Visit on an empty stomach and prepare to indulge in a variety of fresh pastries, toast, spreads, seasonal fruit, Western breakfast favourites, and popular Asian and Indian dishes. There’s even a salad bar and a cheese selection.

Best breakfast in Sydney with a view
When I was researching Sydney breakfast spots, Celsius Coffee & Dining continuously popped up. My friend and I were apartment-sitting in Kirribilli, so we walked there to celebrate her 30th birthday. But I kid you not… it was the most miserable morning, and we didn’t get to experience the fantastic view for which Celsius is famous. It’s located on Kirribilli Wharf, so on a good day, you get sweeping waterfront views.
Nonetheless, the food is fantastic! I had the O.G. Celsius Waffle, which is as tasty as it is pretty. My friend had the hash brown waffle.
Best bottomless brunch in Sydney
I have to be honest… I’m not a bottomless brunch girlie. I KNOW. But if you are, here’s a guide to the best Sydney bottomless brunch spots. I didn’t realise there were so many options!

Best brunch in Manly
I’ve only enjoyed lunch in Manly (twice 🫢). But I had an excellent burrito from Chica Bonita, and later learned the team is also behind Noon. The Manly cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, offering a fun and varied menu. Think mince on toast, zucchini toast, and caramelised crumpets. For something different again, head to Norma’s Deli for an unreal breakfast platter.

Best brunch in the Hills
I stayed with a friend in the Sydney Hills on one trip to Sydney. Brunch is our love language, so she took me to ELS Cafe and Bar. Yeah, look at that meal swimming in maple syrup. Safe to say I was in brunch heaven!

A market brunch in Sydney
On my most recent trip to Sydney, I hit up several markets. Several of them have excellent breakfast and brunch options.
1. Carriageworks Farmers Market is a must for foodies! If you don’t fill up on samples of fresh, locally made products, several stores sell pastries and sandwiches perfect for breakfast.
2. We then walked over to Glebe Markets, which has a section dedicated to delicious food. You can enjoy full meals here, or opt for a cookie or a sweet treat.

3. I’m thrilled to have finally experienced the renowned Kirribilli Markets. My friend and I both picked up some secondhand clothing goodies, and we stopped for an epic brunch at The Pig Baron. For $10, I got the Brekky Roll, which includes pork, crackling, bacon, egg, onion jam, and tomato relish. Yeah, it tastes as good as it sounds!
4. Our next stop was The Rocks Market. Once again, you can enjoy a full meal or sample some dishes.
Sydney’s best brunch spots on my bucket list
Oh, you best believe I have a Sydney brunch bucket list!
1. Valentina’s is an Americana diner serving all-day breakfast in Marrickville. The Tina Classic (scrambled eggs, bacon, fries, and a pancake) is calling my name!
2. Happyfield. Honestly, one look at its menu and I’m hungry and overwhelmed 😅. You have eggs with happy and happier sides! Pancake stacks in all forms! Breakfast burgers and platters! BRB, booking a trip to Sydney…
3. Porch and Parlour has a little bit of everything.
4. Bills. Bill Granger is famous for popularising avo on toast and ricotta hotcakes. So if you want to pay homage to his brunch brilliance, Bills has several locations in Sydney.
I hope this guide to the best Sydney brunch spots helps you plan your trip.

PREPARE FOR YOUR TRIP
– Book accommodation with Booking.com or Hostelworld. Yes, I am that person who checks both places before booking accommodation to get the best price. In Sydney, I’ve personally stayed at and recommend Wake Up! Sydney Central. The hostel is directly across from Central Station. Another option is Holiday Inn Sydney Potts Point. A great location with stunning views.
– Organise travel insurance.
– Book adventures via GetYourGuide, my preferred provider. In some instances, I’ve found activities here that were sold out elsewhere.
– Check out my travel resources page for more info.
