In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ New year, new job: Now that the contract has been signed, I can happily share the new part-time job I will be doing for the next eight months. I will be working for The Culture Trip as their new writer for Vancouver and Canada in general. This role is a dream come true, and I am so excited to beginning working and writing!
♥ Holidays: If you follow me on social media, you would have seen that I bought flights this week to Hawaii. I am beyond excited for some sunshine, vitamin D and beach time. I was sick last week, which is probably due to my body needing a healthy dose of vitamin D. I will be visiting both Oahu and Maui over eight days.
♥ What I’ve read: I finished two books this week — The Thousandth Floor and Graceling. The first book was like a futuristic Gossip Girl, told from quite a few different perspectives. I recommend it if you enjoy Pretty Little Liars and Gossip Girl. The latter is another YA fantasy series, which I liked, but there are better fantasy series out there. However knowing me, I will finish the series anyway.
♥ Blog goals: The new year has made me pretty inspired when it comes to Hayley on Holiday. I have already planned out quite a bit of content for the next couple of months. I have posts coming on Vancouver, Melbourne, freelance writing and more! I have big plans to post three times a week this year, and continue to grow on social media. We are off to a good start.
♥ Tacofino: Yes, my friends and I are addicted. We went again this week, but we have told ourselves we need to broaden our Mexican horizons in 2017. We shall see if this actually happens.
♥ New post: Did you see this week’s post? Check it out here — how to spend just 24 hours seeing the best of Vancouver. It is possible.
♥ Quote: When I decide to be happy, I attract great things in my life.
My mum reminded me of this affirmation yesterday. It is all about putting good vibes out into the universe. You never know what might happen. You might just land the perfect writing gig.
This week I start my new job, with a couple of social gatherings thrown in as well!
