In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ Well, I survived my first shift at Rogers Arena, and it was good! It definitely wasn’t as hectic as an AFL game, which is not a bad thing.
♥ Wednesday was a good day at work as we were serving lunch at LUSH HQ and we got a little thank you gift. It was also such a nice sunny day that I went for a walk after work along the seawall. This area has excellent city views, and it always make me appreciate the city I get to call home.
♥ I hit publish last week on a post I had a lot of fun with. I seriously love editing photos — is that strange? Check out my 20 favourite photos from Bali.
♥ I finished reading City of Glass, which was a good read. The book was quite long though, and I found myself skimming some pages, which you probably don’t want as an author. However, the ending was exactly what I think every reader was hoping for. Up next is Euphoria by Lily King, which I have heard very good things about.
♥ I finally got my Tacofino fix this week. Their fish taco has a very good reputation, and I am glad to report it lives up to the hype. I also recommend starting with salsa and chips. This local BC business just keeps expanding, which is awesome to see and support.
♥ Although I am not ready for winter AT ALL (and neither is my closet), I can’t help but appreciate the beauty that is Fall in Vancouver. Who would have thought a bunch of leaves on the ground would be so pretty? Not me, and probably not the people raking them.
♥ I had a fun night out with friends on Saturday. We went to Cactus Club, which is a bit of a Vancity institution. Then we went to Rain or Shine, as I have wanted to try their ice-cream since I returned. It might have been about 8 degrees when I was eating it, but the weather never stops me from getting my ice-cream fix. EVER.
This week involves Thanksgiving today with my friend’s family, and a lot of time searching for some freelance writing jobs!
