In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ It was a quiet week for me last week, but sometimes that is a good thing. Especially with Christmas approaching — also known as spending season.
♥ I spent my days off applying for writing jobs and pitching travel stories to different online publications. Stay tuned in the following weeks for some links to my new work.
♥ I also published my post on Whistler here. I had a lot of fun editing these photos, and I was really happy with how they turned out.
♥ Vancouver turned to winter too suddenly last week. But that also meant the first snow of the season! I was so excited to see the snow caps on the mountains as I walked through my neighbourhood on Friday. It’s so pretty. And cold. But mostly pretty.
♥ Speaking of walks, I walked from one job to the other on Thursday (with a Starbucks break in between). The sun peeked through the clouds briefly, and it was so good. When the stroll includes walking by the water and passing Science World, the phone always comes out.
♥ After I finished another two books last week, I thought I’d go back through my blog posts and find out how many books I’ve finished so far in 2016. Ladies and gentlemen, I am at 40 books! I was super impressed with this number, and I am wondering whether I can make it to 50 by the end of the year. If I don’t do anything else, sure.
♥ The books I completed: The Story of Us, which was a very easy-to-read chick lit novel. I did enjoy the storyline though. I also completed The Vacationers. I really liked the authentic way in which this book was written. I also loved that it was set in Mallorca.
♥ Is anyone else sad about all the TV winter finales? More time for reading though, right? I watched the finales of Blindspot, How to Get Away with Murder and Chicago P.D. in one night and the intensity just increased after each viewing. If you haven’t watched Blindspot, I highly recommend it!
This week I start working at the Vancouver Christmas Market!
