In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ The highlight of last week was definitely visiting Whistler again. That place is just so beautiful and quaint, I loved my solo day trip. I was surprised how much felt familiar from my Christmas visit nearly three years ago. It is very pretty as a winter wonderland, too. Blog post coming soon (of course).
♥ One of my friends hosted a board game night during the week, which is always hilarious. We did play a game that involved drawing, and let’s just say art has never (ever) been my strong suit.
♥ We went to trivia at The Lamplighter and it was so much fun! We are backing it up this week, and I have a feeling we will do even better. But hey, not losing is an achievement when you are up against big teams.
♥ The Lamplighter has Somersby on tap, which is my FAVOURITE cider. But seriously, how big are these glasses? They cost $8. Ridiculous.
♥ I finished another book this week, The Siren. It was about a siren who falls in love with a human but can’t speak to him, as her voice can kill. It was not overly exciting or memorable, and I’d probably only give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.
♥ I finally wrote something other than a life lately post this week! Check out my guide to the Richmond Night Market. Not gonna lie, I am kind of digging the photos I took.
♥ I spent the weekend working, which isn’t so bad. We had a very slow night on Friday, along with the other food trucks, which meant A LOT of free food. I sampled fish and chips from Kaboom Box (delicious), some kind of ridiculous popcorn chicken concoction from Le Tigre (also delicious), and had butter chicken from Vij’s for lunch the next day. The last dish was a tad spicy, but the chicken was crumbed, which just added another element to the meal.
♥ Did anyone watch the premiere of This Is Us last week? It is a new show, but totally went in a direction I don’t think anyone saw coming, and I am curious where the season is heading.
This week includes trivia take 2 and a little bit of training for job 2!
