In an effort to blog more, I wanted to breakdown my monthly Hayley Lately posts into weekly segments. Each week I will share some happy moments: what I’ve been blogging, reading, watching and doing in beautiful Vancouver. Let’s just call it my weekly gratitude journal.
♥ Work, work, work: Last week I ended up working three jobs (four if you count my writing work as well). It was kind of chaotic, but I liked the variety. This week we are only doing two jobs. Woo!
♥ New post: I published my money saving post last week. I laid out everything I did to save as much money as possible to continue this travel lifestyle.
♥ Date Night: My friend and I went out for dinner and to the movies on Saturday. I hadn’t been to the cinema since Suicide Squad in August. Too long between movie popcorns for me! We saw The Edge of Seventeen, which we both really enjoyed. I love Woody Harrelson and he worked really well with Hailee Steinfeld as her teacher/father figure. During the movie there was a scene at a theme park, which is when we realised it was filmed in Vancouver!
♥ Sunny Days: We actually had TWO sunny days in Vancouver. After two months of constant rain, it was a beautiful break, let me tell you. The Christmas Market is also right on the waterfront, so I made the most of the blue skies and snapped a few photos.
♥ Gilmore Girls: I know I mentioned this last week, but I finished the last episode on Thursday. Guys, I was underwhelmed. I thought they could have done so much more, instead of wasting so much time on THAT musical. Urgh. Plus the cliffhanger ending was not appreciated.
♥ Will I reach 50 books? So I am one more book down this week, but that also means I need to read 7 by the end of December. A big feat, even for a nerd like me. Anyway, this week’s book was the next instalment in the Mortal Instruments Series, City of Fallen Angels. I am quite a fan of this series, but I definitely think this book wasn’t as good as its predecessor.
♥ Tree envy: On the different blogs I read and Instagram, my eyes have been inundated with photos of pretty REAL Christmas trees. I am a big fan of Carly’s Woodland creatures-inspired tree here, but I wouldn’t mind a real tree one of these days. I just think they wouldn’t survive in Australia’s heat!
Have a great week, everyone!
