Don’t be nervous about visiting Las Vegas alone. I had a great time as a solo traveller in Las Vegas because I did a couple of awesome Las Vegas tours. From Grand Canyon and LA day trips to walking tours, here are over 20 of the best Las Vegas tours for fellow solo travellers.

When you’re a solo traveller, tours are the best thing to do. I did two Las Vegas tours during my short time there a few years ago. They allowed me to see two big things (Las Vegas at night and the Grand Canyon), which I wouldn’t have done myself. Hiring a vehicle for a long day trip to the Grand Canyon wasn’t possible, and I was a little worried about roaming the Las Vegas streets alone at night.

Las Vegas tours for solo travellers

Big Bus Night Tour

I really wanted to see the bright lights of Las Vegas, but I was a little apprehensive about walking around the city alone at night. My mum actually found this tour for me, and it was perfect. From the rooftop deck, I was able to take photos and learn more about the Vegas Strip from the hilarious guide. I was also able to drink a cheap beer, woohoo!

The tour took us up the entire strip to the famous sign, and then back down the other side to Fremont Street. Now that’s an entirely different Las Vegas experience. Without the tour, I never would have ventured to see this area alone. There were ziplines, live music and Jon Bon Jovi singing from the screens on the roof. Really.

Big Bus Day Tour

I ran out of time to do this hop-on/hop-off tour, but if you are in Las Vegas for a few days, I’d recommend doing a day tour with Big Bus as well. Their day tour has two routes, which take you to all of the Las Vegas landmarks, including the historic downtown area. They also have deluxe and premium tickets, where you can do both the day and night tours. It’s a pretty good deal, I must say.

Grand Canyon South Rim Tour

I only had a few nights in Las Vegas, but I really wanted to see the Grand Canyon. I just didn’t know when I would get the opportunity again. Fortunately, there are many tour companies operating day trips from Las Vegas. I did a tour with the Grand Canyon Tour Company. It was a long day, but so worthwhile. We stopped at Hoover Dam, drove along Route 66 and had an amazing all-you-can-eat buffet lunch. We also got to spend a good amount of time walking along and taking photos of the Grand Canyon South Rim.

Luxury South Rim Bus Tour | Grand Canyon South Rim Bus Tour

I linked to an alternative tour above, which is slightly more expensive, but it does include optional upgrades. Depending on your budget and bucket list, this might be a better option. You can also choose between visiting the South or West Rims of the Grand Canyon. When I did my research, I noticed the West Rim tours were slightly more expensive. But it’s also where the impressive Skywalk is, which might be worth the extra cost for you. Here’s the cheapest West Rim tour I could find.

Alternative nature tours

Okay, now we are onto bullet points, because there are so many tour options and alternatives in Las Vegas. As you probably know, Vegas is surrounded by a unique landscape, which you can explore on other tours as well. These are great alternatives if you have limited time, or have already seen the Grand Canyon.

• Red Rock Canyon Tour has a four and six-hour option, so this is the tour for visitors with time constraints.

• Bryce Canyon Day Trip is a must in my opinion. I have seen so many incredible photos of Bryce Canyon on Instagram, I am disappointed I didn’t realise I could experience it while in Vegas. Next time!

• Death Valley is actually America’s largest national park and another option.

• Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend is another place I have seen regularly featured on Instagram. You could do it for the gram (as they say) or simply for yourself. I mean, the view IS spectacular.

Walking tours

I am a big fan of walking tours. I did one in probably 60% of the cities I visited in the States. They are an inexpensive way to learn more about a city from enthusiastic locals. Fortunately, there are quite a few Las Vegas walking tours to choose from, which are focused on both downtown Las Vegas and the Strip. Here are some options:

• Las Vegas Strip Walking Tour is a great tour for people wanting to learn more about the Strip. You also get the inside scoop on Vegas’ most popular hotels.

• Nomad Walking Tours are the only company to offer free walking tours of the Strip on selected days. As with all free tours, tips are appreciated.

• Downtown Night Walking Tour takes you around the same area I saw on the Big Bus Night Tour. I would choose the bus tour personally. But if you’re more of a walker, this allows you to explore Fremont Street with a group.

• Pop Culture Walking Tour is another daytime tour, but this one is based in old Las Vegas and Fremont Street again. The website says that “your tour guide will take you through 10 historic blocks and 12 iconic stops.” Plus, you get a complimentary cocktail at the end. Oh yeah!

• Las Vegas Walking Tours is another company offering walking tours of Las Vegas.

Los Angeles day tours

If you have limited time in the States and want to see Los Angeles, there are day tours from Las Vegas too. Although they are just as long as the Grand Canyon tours, it’s worthwhile because you get to see La La Land.

• Hollywood Day Tour. This option includes less time in LA, but you also get to drive through Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Parks. So it depends on what you like more.

• Los Angeles and Hollywood Day Tour. I would choose this tour, as it takes you to all of the LA landmarks. This includes Santa Monica Pier, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards, and the Hollywood Sign.

Food tours

I couldn’t find a lot of alternatives for foodies Las Vegas tours. but Taste Buzz Food Tours do have three options: Downtown Delights, Finger Licking Foodie Tour and Dining like the Stars. The company is owned by a Las Vegas native too.
