I have said before that Vancouver is not a cheap city for either visitors or residents. So during your visit, opt to stay in one of these budget hotels in Vancouver. This allows you to spend your money on activities and experiences rather than accommodations. All of the properties listed below average under $100 per night for two people.
5 Budget hotels in Vancouver
Howard Johnson Hotel
The Howard Johnson Hotel Downtown Vancouver is an eco-friendly property located directly on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver, which means guests stay in the heart of the entertainment district. This hotel would benefit visitors who want easy access to Vancouver’s best sights, as it’s a short stroll from Granville Street’s entertainment venues, the Pacific Centre, Granville Island Public Market, West End and BC Place.
Hilton Vancouver Metrotown
I know, it’s unusual for a Hilton property to be included in a budget-focused post. But if you’ve always wanted to stay in a Hilton this is your chance. The Hilton Vancouver Metrotown is located right next to Metrotown, the biggest mall in Western Canada. Guests are only a short train ride away from downtown, but they may not want to leave the hotel. The Hilton has a complimentary casino shuttle, an on-site restaurant and bar, and 24-hour room service.
Lonsdale Quay Hotel
A stay at Lonsdale Quay Hotel offers guests a chance to visit North Vancouver. Located a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown Vancouver, you’ll be steps from the Lonsdale Quay Market, which is open year-round. In summer, hundreds of locals and visitors enjoy the North Vancouver Shipyard Markets every Friday, which is less than five minutes from the hotel. Each room has a private balcony and the hotel offers a news-stand, gift store, hair salon and on-site shopping.
English Bay Inn Bed and Breakfast
English Bay Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in Vancouver’s West End, a great neighbourhood filled with excellent restaurants and bars. Meanwhile, English Bay itself has a great beach and is renowned for its beautiful sunsets. The Inn offers guests a comfortable and intimate stay, with only six guest rooms. The complimentary breakfast is an added perk, plus visitors don’t have to go far to get to Stanley Park, Vancouver’s urban oasis.
The Georgian Court Hotel
Known as one of the city’s gems, the Georgian Court Hotel is in Vancouver’s hip Yaletown neighbourhood. This means all the city’s amenities are nearby, as are Yaletown’s scrumptious dining options. The Georgian Court Hotel offers guests a complimentary shuttle to nearby attractions, including Coal Harbour and the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. There’s also an Orchid Floor for ladies, which includes additions like curling irons, yoga mats and magazines for that extra touch.
This list includes budget hotels in Vancouver for everyone.
This includes guests who want to stay downtown, people who want a Hilton experience and visitors after an alternative option like North Vancouver. For things to do during your visit to Vancouver, I have published posts on free things to do, a 24-hour guide, things to do at night and day trip options as well.
