During my trip through America’s southern states a couple of years ago, I really enjoyed my time in Georgia. I visited both Atlanta and Savannah, and each place offered something different to travellers. Atlanta had the big city appeal with plenty of fun activities to keep me entertained, while Savannah was a more relaxed town with beautiful scenery. Here are five Georgia hotels for your next vacation.
Best Georgia hotels in Atlanta and Savannah
Meet in Midtown
If you want accommodation in the heart of Atlanta, check out Atlanta Marriott Suites Midtown. Every suite includes a separate living area with a sofa bed, mini-refrigerator, large bathroom and windows overlooking the Atlanta skyline. Families will love the onsite pool, while the 12 meeting rooms and onsite event planners cater to business travellers. The hotel’s Midtown location means the local aquarium and Piedmont Park are also both close by.
Luxury in Buckhead
For a luxurious Atlanta getaway, choose InterContinental Buckhead. Spend time swimming in the outdoor saltwater pool or enjoy soaking in the adjacent hot tub. Guests can indulge in one of the many treatments offered at SPA InterContinental, which may include a body wrap, facial or manicure and pedicure. The Bourbon Bar also calls the InterContinental home, for those who wouldn’t mind a night sipping on specialty bourbons. There is so much at this hotel, you won’t want to leave.
Stay in historic Savannah
The Marshall House is all about history. It’s established in a landmark building from 1851 and located in Savannah’s historic district. The hotel offers a range of rooms, from queen rooms to suites with private balconies and separate sitting areas. The Marshall House offers guests free wine and cheese in its library from Sunday to Thursday. There is also complimentary Wi-Fi and free breakfast every morning. Due to its location, a stay at this hotel means guests are also walking distance from the many attractions and squares that make Savannah famous.
Hyatt in the heart of Atlanta
A stay at Hyatt Atlanta Midtown means being close to all the Atlanta action, including the largest aquarium in the world. Each of the 194 rooms includes modern features, such as a work desk, 40-inch television and a bathroom with granite countertops. The onsite Juniper Bar features a daily cocktail Happy Hour, while the fitness centre is open 24 hours for eager guests. The Hyatt also has an indoor pool and hot tub, for relaxing in after a day out enjoying Atlanta’s attractions.
Stay in a chateau
Who knew Georgia, and specifically Braselton, was home to Chateau Elan? The complex features 329 rooms and suites, including a Presidential and Governor’s Suite. Each room is decorated in antique and elegant furniture, which resemble the estate’s counterparts in France. Chateau Elan is home to a spa overlooking the lake, plus a winery, culinary studio, golf course, and seven restaurants and bars. There is also a fitness centre, swimming pool and four tennis courts, so guests will never be bored during a weekend at Chateau Elan.
No matter where you visit in Georgia, from Atlanta to Savannah, you are sure to find a boutique hotel to suit you.
