Where To Stay on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head Island in South Carolina is a popular holiday destination for Americans, and it isn’t hard to see why. At just 12 miles long and five miles wide, the island fits a lot of adventure into its small size. The official tourism website states that Hilton Head is home to 24 golf course, 250 restaurants and 350 tennis courts. So for your next island sojourn, why not stay in one of these excellent Hilton Head Island hotels?

Disney Resort

For a family vacation, there’s no better choice than the Disney Hilton Head Island Resort. There are standard rooms, plus one and two-bedroom villas available. The villas include a dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and balcony. The family can never be bored, as the resort has access to the beach, an 18-hole golf course and three pools. The hotel also offers guests nature walks with a naturalist, so you can learn more about the island’s flora and fauna.

Metropolitan Hotel

Situated next to Coligny Beach Park and Coligny Plaza, the Hilton Head Metropolitan Hotel is in a great location. Within minutes, guests can be at the beach, eating and drinking at one of the island’s many restaurants or window shopping. The hotel also has a pool, indoor golf practise area and tennis courts. If you’re after a conference or event space, the hotel also has an onsite planner and the facilities to cater for 200 guests. Furthermore, the Metropolitan Hotel has standard guest rooms and suites with kitchenettes.

Omni Oceanfront Resort

If you’re after a luxurious escape, look no further than the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. Each suite includes a marble-top kitchen, free Wi-Fi and a balcony with either courtyard, ocean or island views. There are two heated outdoor swimming pools and two hot tubs overlooking the ocean as well. There’s a full-service spa onsite, as well as a seasonal kid’s club. Plus, you don’t even have to leave the hotel for meals as there are four dining options onsite.

Sonesta Resort

For a hotel that covers all bases, check out Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island. The resort has an onsite bar, restaurant and cafe, plus an outdoor swimming pool complete with a sun deck. There is a fitness centre open all day, a business centre, and a kid’s club. Close-by guests will find Coligny Plaza for shopping and the Hilton Head Coastal Discovery Museum to learn about the island’s wildlife.

Shipyard Resort

Shipyard Resort by Spinnaker Resorts is home to condos, as well as two and three-bedroom villas on Hilton Head Island. Each one includes free Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, free local and long-distance phone calls, and a balcony. Villas start from $155 per night, which is quite reasonable if travelling with friends. The resort also has access to a pool, hot tub, tennis court and golf course. Plus, it isn’t too far to the ocean, waterside barbecues and picnic tables.
