Who am I?
For the detailed lowdown, please visit my About page. The short version is: I’m Hayley Simpson, an Australian freelance writer and travel blogger who has visited over 40 countries across four continents. I am currently back living in my hometown of Townsville.
Hayley on Holiday focuses on three main categories: solo travel, budget travel and my expat experiences in Canada (I lived in Vancouver twice in my 20s). You won’t find luxury hotel reviews here, but you will find informative solo travel guides with hostel recommendations for cities around the world.

During my #BussingUSA media trip in 2014, I worked with several tourism boards in the United States.
