Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Work work work. Last week was a busy one work-wise. I worked at least one of my jobs every day (sometimes two). It was hectic, but today I am playing catch-up and doing all of my fun errands, like grocery shopping so I can cook this for dinner tonight.
A work highlight was definitely working the John Legend concert. Firstly, he actually started his set early, which never happens. This meant I got to listen, and sing along, to quite a bit of his set. Because I was serving I obviously couldn’t see the stage, but from what I heard it was a great concert. I also got to work in four different areas of Vancouver: Vancouver, North Van, Burnaby and Port Moody, all in four days! I love the variety of my work. And the free craft beers ;)
♥ Blogging. The latest post on the blog shares my carry-on packing list tips. I feel like I am a bit of an expert these days, so hopefully this post comes in handy for other travellers.
♥ Reading. Guys, I didn’t finish a book last week. I KNOW, I’m also shocked. But I am currently reading two books (one at night and one on the bus) so I think I will get them both completed by next week. If you’re not already, follow my progress on Goodreads.
♥ Watching. So I was obsessed with Quantico’s first season, but I wasn’t as into its second. However, it was renewed so my friend and I decided we needed to get back into it. I’ve watched a few episodes so far and it is getting better, but I think it’s hard to live up to the amazing first season. I am also slowly making my way through Switched at Birth.
♥ Eating. I didn’t really eat anywhere new this week. I did enjoy a fish burrito from my favourite, Tacofino though. I’m slowly creating a list of places I want to try before I eventually leave. Lucky I’m used to eating out solo!
♥ Writing. I thought I’d share some of my favourite posts I got published this week on The Culture Trip. I did a round-up of the best things to see and do on Vancouver Island, which makes me want to visit ASAP. I STILL haven’t visited Victoria! I also enjoyed writing about the things tourists should never do in Vancouver, like just visit Stanley Park and my secret tip for getting into the Richmond Night Market.
♥ Walks. I’ve been trying to do a walk around my neighbourhood once a week, because I love the little forested path down near the water. It’s also a very hilly climb to get home, which makes it a good workout.
This week is very cruisy compared to last. But I am hoping for some solo adventures and a new haircut!
