Welcome back to Hayley Lately. Each Monday, this is where I share some happy moments from the previous week: what I’ve blogged, read, watched and done in beautiful Vancouver.
♥ Playland. I had a couple of fun adventures last week. Firstly, on Thursday night I visited Playland for a friend and family night with my LA buddies. Visiting theme parks is always fun, even if I stick to the less-scary rides. It was also such a beautiful summer’s night. Have I told you lately how much I love summer in this city?
♥ Writing. I got a lot of writing done last week for The Culture Trip. But this also meant I didn’t have the time to produce a blog post here. But I wrote a couple of fun articles this week about different provinces, like Manitoba and Nova Scotia. You should also look at these honeymoon destinations. SO beautiful.
♥ Working. I worked the Queen and Adam Lambert concert last night, and I was surprised how many songs I knew, besides the classics. They really did produce some of the best songs.
♥ Canada Day. The next adventure was for Canada Day on Saturday. We headed downtown, where it seemed half of Vancouver was! We had lunch, went for a wander through Canada Place where we took some fun photos, and then had drinks in Gastown. I’m glad I got to be in Canada for its 150th birthday. This country will always be my second favourite ;)
♥ Watching. I am kind of behind on Pretty Little Liars, but I totally read the spoilers to see what happened in the finale. It seemed like a very PLL-esque ending. Now the entire season has been released on Netflix, I’ll definitely catch up. I also finished the latest season of iZombie. It’s an unusual concept, but I love this show for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s created by Rob Thomas, who is the guy behind the absolutely awesome show, Veronica Mars. Secondly, the casting is perfect, and thirdly, it’s filmed in Vancouver. If you need more reasons, the seasons are also short and it’s on Netflix (just saying…).
♥ Reading. Another week, another book! This week’s read was All the Missing Girls. I had heard good things about this novel, but it totally underwhelmed me. It played out over two weeks, but the book was told in reverse., from day 15 to day 1. I liked the idea, but for me the concept was totally confusing. I felt like I needed to re-read the book afterwards, from back to front. But maybe this was just me?
