Hayley Lately // My Travel Plans For October

I have mentioned my upcoming extended trip here and there, but I thought it would be a good idea to recap exactly where I am going. I don’t have concrete plans for November yet (just a very long wish list), but October is at least locked down. Keep reading to discover just where I will wander next month!

England

London

I leave for London TONIGHT and will arrive mid-morning tomorrow. I will be coming back to the city a couple of times during my trip, so I’m now staying long this time. I’ll be getting on a bus to my next destination as soon as I step off the plane.

Bristol

I will be staying with one of my Dad’s cousins for a few days. I met them during my first trip to the UK waaay back in 2007. I’m excited to catch up and check out Bristol for the first time (and all the street art). I’ve heard good things about the city! I also hope to do some day trips to Bath and the Cotswolds while I’m there.

Ireland

Then I fly to Dublin. This will be my first time in Ireland and I am so excited to spend nearly two weeks seeing as much of the country as I can. I won’t be road tripping, but instead taking buses and trains across the country. I will be spending time in Cork, Galway and Belfast as well. I have a tour to the Cliffs of Moher locked down during my time in Galway, and I hope to do a tour to Giants Causeway when I am in Belfast too.

Scotland

My second new country. From Belfast, I will be taking the ferry to Scotland. I did initially want to spend quite a bit of time in Scotland, but it just isn’t going to happen this trip. Instead, I’ll be sticking to Glasgow and Edinburgh. I will be doing a day trip from Glasgow though, to see a bit more of the Highlands and the gorgeous scenery that Scotland is famous for. Edinburgh is one of the cities I’m most excited to visit.

London

Told you I’ll be back! I’ll have a few days in London to see as much as I can. But I fly out of the city in December, so whatever I don’t see now will be back on the list for this future visit.

France

Brittany

An area I didn’t expect to visit, but I will be staying with my mum’s cousin for a few days. After some googling, I am so excited to photograph this area. The architecture looks absolutely amazing.

Paris

Then it’s onto PARIS! I did visit Paris on my first Europe trip, but two days was just enough time to see the tourist attractions only. This time I want to experience some of the city’s beautiful neighbourhoods. I will also be catching up with my old boss in Melbourne for a day too!

Right now, I am thinking I’ll leave Paris on the 31st October, but I have no idea where I will be going next. Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, Prague? Only time will tell.

Please pass on any recommendations you have for the places I’ve mentioned above. Any help on where to eat, where to photograph and what to do are extremely welcome.
